Networks & WiFi

The network everything else depends on

Structured cabling, switching, firewalls and WiFi access points — surveyed properly, installed neatly, and documented so faults are quick to find.

Cameras, access control and VoIP all run over the network. When the network is an afterthought — a consumer router and a switch in a cupboard — everything above it inherits the problem, and the fault always seems to be somewhere else.

We treat the network as infrastructure. Structured cabling that is tested and labelled, switching sized for what will actually run on it, and WiFi placed from a site survey rather than guesswork about where the signal reaches.

The result is boring in the best way: it works, and when something does go wrong, the documentation means finding it takes minutes rather than an afternoon of tracing cables.

Capabilities

What this covers

  • Structured cabling

Cat6 and Cat6A data cabling, fibre backbone between buildings, patch panels and racks — tested, labelled and documented on handover.

  • Switching & routing

Managed switching with VLAN segmentation, and PoE sized for the cameras, access points and phones drawing from it.

  • Firewalls & network security

Firewall deployment, remote access VPN, and segmentation that keeps guest traffic away from business systems.

  • WiFi access points

Business-grade access points with seamless roaming, placed from a survey rather than trial and error.

  • WiFi site surveys

Predictive and on-site surveys that map coverage and interference before anything is mounted, so you buy the right number of access points.

  • Guest & staff WiFi separation

Separate guest networks with their own bandwidth limits and no route into internal systems.

Typical work

What people ask us for

A few of the situations this service is most often called in for.

  • Offices

Cabling a new or refitted office

Full structured cabling to desks and access points, with a labelled rack and documentation that makes future changes straightforward.

  • Schools & education

    Campus-wide coverage

WiFi across classrooms and grounds with roaming that holds up as people move, and separate networks for staff, pupils and guests.

  • Warehousing & logistics

    Coverage across difficult spaces

WiFi engineered for racking, steel and high ceilings — environments where an access point in the middle of the roof does not work.

How it works

From first call to working system

No surprises, and no commitment until you have a written quote in front of you.

  1. Site survey

We come out and look at the actual site — what is there, what the constraints are, and what you are trying to achieve. No charge, no obligation.

  2. Written quote

A quote that itemises equipment and labour separately, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and compare it properly.

  3. Installation

Scheduled around your operating hours where possible. Cabling is labelled and documented, and we clean up after ourselves.

  4. Handover & support

We show your team how to use it before we leave, and you get documentation. Ongoing maintenance agreements are available.

FAQ

Networks & WiFi — common questions

Why do I need a site survey for WiFi?

Because coverage is not guessable. Walls, racking, steel and neighbouring networks all change the result. A survey tells us how many access points you need and where — which usually means buying fewer, not more.

Can you work with our existing IT provider?

Yes, routinely. We handle the physical infrastructure and hand over documentation your IT provider can work from. Overlap is agreed up front so nothing falls between us.

Should guest WiFi be separate from our business network?

Yes, always. Guest traffic on the same network as business systems is a straightforward risk to remove, and separating it costs nothing extra at install time.

Do you certify and test the cabling?

Yes. Cabling is tested and results are provided on handover, along with labelling and a rack layout. Untested cabling is where intermittent faults live.

Need more than one of these? See all four services — most sites combine two or three.
