Security & Surveillance

Cameras that give you usable footage

CCTV and remote monitoring, specified around your actual risk and installed so the footage stands up when you need it.

Most disappointing camera systems were not badly installed — they were badly specified. A camera with the wrong lens at the wrong height produces footage where you can see that someone was there, but not who. That distinction only becomes obvious after an incident, which is the worst possible time to discover it.

We start with a site survey: what you are protecting, where people and vehicles actually enter, and what the lighting does after dark. Camera selection and placement follow from that, so each camera has a defined job — identification at entry points, general overview elsewhere.

Systems are built to be lived with. Recording retention that matches how long it typically takes you to notice a problem, remote viewing that works on a phone without a technical support call, and storage sized properly so footage is still there when you go looking.

Capabilities

What this covers

  • IP camera systems

High-definition IP CCTV with cameras specified per position — identification, recognition or overview — rather than one model everywhere.

  • NVR & DVR recording

Recording infrastructure sized for your required retention period, with RAID or redundant storage where footage loss is not acceptable.

  • Remote monitoring & alerts

Mobile and desktop viewing, motion and line-crossing alerts, and integration with an off-site monitoring service where required.

  • Intercoms & gate stations

Audio and video intercoms at gates and entrances, including systems that call through to a mobile phone.

Typical work

What people ask us for

A few of the situations this service is most often called in for.

  • Residential estates

    Perimeter and entrance coverage

Licence-plate capture at the gate, perimeter detection along the fence line, and footage retained long enough to be useful after the fact.

  • Retail

    Till points and stockroom

Camera positions that make shrinkage investigable — identification-grade coverage at tills, entrances and stock movement points.

  • Warehousing & logistics

    Yard and loading bays

Wide-area coverage of yards and loading bays, with vehicle-triggered alerts outside operating hours.

How it works

From first call to working system

No surprises, and no commitment until you have a written quote in front of you.

  1. Site survey

We come out and look at the actual site — what is there, what the constraints are, and what you are trying to achieve. No charge, no obligation.

  2. Written quote

A quote that itemises equipment and labour separately, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and compare it properly.

  3. Installation

Scheduled around your operating hours where possible. Cabling is labelled and documented, and we clean up after ourselves.

  4. Handover & support

We show your team how to use it before we leave, and you get documentation. Ongoing maintenance agreements are available.

FAQ

Security & Surveillance — common questions

How long is footage kept?

That is a design decision, not a fixed answer. We size storage to the retention period you need — commonly 14 to 30 days. Longer retention is possible; it mainly costs storage.

Can I view the cameras from my phone?

Yes, on both mobile and desktop. We set it up and hand it over working, rather than leaving you with a manual and a password.

Will the cameras work at night?

Cameras are selected for the lighting at each position. Where there is genuinely no light, that means infrared or low-light-capable models — and sometimes the better answer is to add lighting instead, which we will tell you if so.

Do you take over an existing system?

Often, yes. We assess what you have, reuse whatever is still fit for purpose, and quote to replace only what is not. Wholesale replacement is not always necessary.

Is CCTV footage affected by POPIA?

Yes. Surveillance footage is personal information under POPIA, which means signage, a lawful purpose, controlled access and a defined retention period. We set systems up with that in mind and will point out where your obligations sit.
